- Research, Design, Prototype, Experiment, and build services, tools, systems, features an experience to provide great Live streaming and Video On Demand flows.
- Research and prototype highly intelligent subscription flows, smart video interpretation flows, work with internal and external ML/AI solutions and much more.
- Be the spear point of innovation coming up with smart ideas and solutions and rapidly prototyping potential solutions in 2–4-week sprints.
- Work with engineers across the company to continuously consider how to implement ideas and prototypes in the large-scale applications serving
- An innovative mindset. You like to research, tinker, and solve complex challenges.
- Fluency in NodeJS, Typescript, Python, Golang, or equivalent languages, with a passion for writing high-performance, efficient code.
- Strong understanding of designing and implementing maintainable and scalable software solutions from the ground up.
- Proven experience with rapidly building up and operating a smooth performing software development team.
- Strong communication with proven ability to work well within a team environment.
- Experience using Google Cloud Platform or other cloud providers.
- 6+ years as a software engineer with 2+ years in a leading role.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The NL based R&D team at ViX Company B.V. is looking for a senior back-end engineer to join our team!
The R&D team researches, iterates, experiments, prototypes, and builds tools and services that power the ViX streaming platform.
The team handles complex challenges and works on core and innovative Over-The-Top streaming projects while working closely together with other engineering teams, external partners, and stakeholders. The role is essential in providing our audience a great experience every time they open the VIX app and will be key to developing industry-leading reliability, quality, and performance.
ABOUT YOU:
You can dive in a challenge, get stuck in and have a focused problem-solving mentality. You are comfortable with failing often and fast on the road towards a solution. You evangelize software craftsmanship and operational excellence yet pragmatic to know when to incur technical debt versus ‘doing it right’. This is a fine balance in an R&D team.
